Thanksgiving! Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin and pecan pie: all these delights can be found in the McMurdo Galley! Although it can never be the same as sitting down to a home cooked meal with your family, we did pretty well.
There are over 1,000 people here, and the Galley served them all! We are on night- shift, and luckily, we had our own special thanksgiving dinner, served at midnight. Surrounded by the ATO family (thats Antarctic Terminal Operations- shuttles, cargo, and air services), two overflowing tables, we ate ourselves silly and had to take pie home!

one big happy pseudo-family!
So without further ado, here are a bunch of pictures of our family here!

A friendly reminder from our favorite McMurdo Firehouse:

This happened a few weeks ago- this mattrack vehicle caught fire because of faulty transmission....and burned to a crisp before it could be put out! The passengers were safe- it was all caught by a helocopter passing by. I'm happy to say that a clean-up team was sent out to scour the ice of any debris.
